Ohlala French Bistro
Restaurants, Las Vegas Valley
Researched from public sources.
Richard Terzaghi's French bistro on N. Rampart near Summerlin since 2016: escargots, sole meunière, moules, weekend brunch and half-price wine Sundays.
From exchange student to bistro owner
Richard Terzaghi first got to know Las Vegas as a foreign exchange student in the early 1990s. A French national, he went on to run restaurants in San Francisco, among them L’Osteria del Forno, before settling here. What struck him, he told Las Vegas Weekly in 2021, was that traditional French food in town mostly meant expensive dining rooms on the Strip. So in 2016 he opened Ohlala French Bistro on North Rampart Boulevard near Summerlin, cooking the dishes French families eat on an ordinary night, at neighborhood prices. He still runs it as chef and owner, and the bistro turns ten this fall, with a three-course anniversary dinner planned for October 13 to 15, 2026.
Reading the menus
- Dinner: French onion soup, escargots, warm pistachio-crusted goat cheese, steak tartare, sole meunière, duck magret, bavette with shallot sauce, and mussels two ways
- Lunch: croque monsieur and croque madame, ham or smoked salmon croissants, baguette sandwiches and a brie burger, plus most of the dinner plates
- Weekend brunch: omelettes, eggs Benedict, quiche of the day and pain perdu, with bottomless mimosas
- To share: charcuterie and cheese boards, from a plate for one to a board for four
The tartare, the moules marinières and the sole have been among the most ordered dishes since opening, according to that 2021 story. The kitchen buys French, organic and local ingredients when it can, and a vegan herb risotto is on every menu.
Wine and the room
The wine list leans on France and California, and Sunday nights bring half-price wine, with some exclusions. The owner describes the room as halfway between a little Paris bistro and a cozy neighborhood restaurant, and there is a bar for cocktails. Pickup, delivery, catering and gift cards are handled through the website.
Hours: closed Monday. Tuesday to Friday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, brunch 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., then dinner 4 to 9 p.m. Reservations by phone. Street parking is free, and RTC bus route 210 serves the stretch.
