Twelve seats on West Flamingo

Gino and Nora Mauro opened Nora’s Italian Cuisine in 1992 with room for 12 diners. The recipes come from the family’s Sicilian roots, and it is still a Mauro family business: their son Marcello Mauro and his wife, Morgan, own it now.

For its first 24 years Nora’s rented its space. In September 2016 the family moved about 900 feet down the road into a building they built and own at 5780 West Flamingo Road, between Jones and Decatur in Spring Valley. The move brought a patio, an upstairs banquet room and the kitchen’s first grill, a mesquite-fired Josper from Spain.

What’s on the dinner menu

A long, mostly Italian-American menu with a Sicilian streak. A sampling:

• Baked pastas such as lasagna, veal cannelloni and Alla Nora, a baked spaghetti with meat sauce and eggplant
• Wild boar pappardelle and fresh ricotta cavatelli
• Linguini with Manila clams, frutti di mare and shrimp scampi
• From the Josper: octopus, pork belly, and a 32-ounce prime porterhouse brought out on a tabletop grill
• Osso buco and sweet-and-sour meatballs of beef and pork

Tiramisu and panettone bread pudding finish things off, and servers can point out vegan and vegetarian choices.

Bringing a group

The second-floor banquet room seats 50 for dinner or holds 100 standing, and has its own private patio. Downstairs takes parties of up to 24, with a set menu above 14. There is also a porch with more than eight tables, a bar, catering and online ordering. Reservations are recommended, and you may bring your own wine for a corkage fee.

A second Nora’s in Boulder City

In February 2026 Marcello and Morgan Mauro bought the former Milo’s building in downtown Boulder City. Demolition started that summer on Nora’s Lakeside, with a bed-and-breakfast called Villa Nora behind it; in August, Mauro estimated about a year of work.

Hours: Monday to Thursday 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.; Friday 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.; Saturday 4 to 11 p.m.; Sunday 4 to 10 p.m. Closed Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Day.
