Las Vegas Cyclery: The Fishers’ Purpose-Built Bike Shop Near Red Rock
Jared and Heather Fisher started a bicycle business out of their first apartment in Green Valley in 1992 as newlyweds. The operation grew through Escape Adventures (their guided-tour company) and eventually anchored in a purpose-built 9,785-square-foot ultragreen retail and service shop on Discovery Drive in South Summerlin, opened December 2012. Las Vegas Cyclery sits within riding distance of Red Rock Canyon and serves both local cyclists and the steady stream of visitors who come specifically to ride the Red Rock loop.
Las Vegas Cyclery handles full-service repair, retail, rentals, and group rides across road, mountain, gravel, and electric-assist categories. Jared Fisher has become a recognizable Nevada civic figure — he ran for governor in 2018 — but Las Vegas Cyclery remains the family’s day-to-day operation. The Discovery Drive shop is purpose-built with photovoltaic solar panels, daylight harvesting, and a stated mission of being the most sustainable bike shop in the country, a deliberate Red Rock-adjacent environmental positioning.
Las Vegas Cyclery in the Las Vegas Valley
South Summerlin sits at the western edge of the Las Vegas Valley, immediately adjacent to the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area. Las Vegas Cyclery’s Discovery Drive location is the closest full-service bike shop to the Red Rock loop and the Cottonwood Valley trail system, making it the default starting point for both serious local cyclists and visiting riders. Three decades in, the Fisher family’s operation is the longest continuously running independent bike shop on the Summerlin side of the Las Vegas Valley.
