Bub’s Bookstore is a locally owned independent bookstore at 110 S. Curry St. in downtown Carson City, run by Rob Fuller and Demi Pettway.
Bub’s Bookstore sits in historic downtown Carson City, where Rob Fuller and Demi Pettway hold their shop as a “third space”: a place, in their words, “where residents can gather, socialize, and exist without the pressure of having to buy anything.” Carson Now reported that the store held its grand opening on Friday, June 12, 2026, with a 1 p.m. ribbon-cutting.
The shop’s website calls it a locally owned bookstore and says it carries new and new-release books. Carson Now lists outdoor recreation, Northern Nevada history, science fiction, romance, fiction and children’s books, along with works by local authors.
A kitchen for cookbooks
The building has an indoor kitchen, and Carson Now says the cookbook section will be housed there. According to Carson Now, the owners want the store to be a grassroots community hub that partners with local groups, including a planned community garden with Hollow Mountain Workshops and Eagle Valley Middle School’s Green Biz Kidz that includes a youth art design challenge.
Events, clubs and hours
The grand opening included book signings, raffle prizes, a chance to meet local writers, live music and food trucks. The website links to an event calendar, book clubs, book orders for reservations and pre-orders, an online store and a Green Room that can be reserved, and invites visitors to suggest or host events.
The website lists hours of 10:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. The store is at 110 S. Curry St.
