Multicultural Bookstore Las Vegas: books and literary gatherings in the Historic Westside.
Readers looking for stories that reflect different cultures and lived experiences are the focus at Multicultural Bookstore Las Vegas. The Historic Westside business carries books for children, teenagers and adults, with representation shaping how its selection is put together.
Who is behind the shelves
Carol Santiago and Tamara Shiloh are identified as its proprietors by the Storehouse Voices bookseller directory. The shop's own account describes Santiago's work in community engagement and access, alongside Shiloh's role in the bookstore's direction, partnerships and outreach.
The Las Vegas location opened in November 2023, according to Nevada Public Radio. That report describes Santiago's intention to create both a bookstore and a gathering place in the Historic Westside, with author visits, children's storytime and conversation among the activities.
Books for the youngest readers onward
The store's Bookshop.org selection includes board books, picture books, chapter books and novels. Its published categories feature African American, Latino, Indigenous American, Asian and Pacific Islander experiences, alongside a range of literary forms and age groups.
Graphic novels and children's picture books have their own online sections. Black history and American history appear among the subjects, giving customers ways to explore both a reading level and an area of interest. The online storefront extends the selection beyond an in-person visit.
A local place for literary activity
The current website presents author talks, readings, workshops and youth or family programming as part of the business's community role. Those activities connect readers with writers and with one another, rather than limiting the shop to a transaction at the register.
The business publishes its current address as 2027 Revere Street, Suite B2, along with a phone number and email. Customers seeking a particular title or planning to attend an activity can contact the bookstore for current stock and event information.
