Writing, editing and public-source research for small, defined projects.
A short biography that needs tightening, a stack of documents that needs organizing, or a few factual claims that need checking: Troy Barile's independent project service is built around assignments small enough to define before work begins. The Las Vegas writer offers editing, research, website wording and educational-content help, with delivery handled digitally.
Barile also writes outside his client work. FOX5 covered the local novelist's book project, The Element-lings, in December 2025. His business website links to selected published work and provides separate research and editing demonstrations so prospective clients can see how he approaches source material and revision.
One task at a time
The service's entry option is a $20 Small Fix for one task taking up to thirty minutes. Examples include proofreading a short text, improving a résumé or biography, and making a limited formatting correction. Barile specifically describes this as help with one defined piece of work, rather than a complete project at that price.
Larger assignments can involve editing an article, developing a teaching worksheet, reviewing website copy, assembling a research brief or organizing references. A separate five-claim verification trial returns linked public sources and a written finding for each claim. Broader production briefs and technical website work are quoted individually.
Agreeing on the work
An inquiry starts with the task, existing materials and deadline. Barile confirms the scope and proposed deliverable before beginning; estimates carry no obligation to book. His stated process allows a revised scope, separate quote or refund when a requested assignment exceeds its package.
Educational support includes feedback and research organization while leaving assessed student work to the student. Research uses lawful, accessible sources; the service does not offer legal or medical advice or fabricated documentation. Direct email and the website inquiry form both reach Barile for questions about fit, timing and budget.
