From Paradise Road to Main Street

Kim Owens grew up in Lafayette, Louisiana, in a family where meals were the center of everything. After moving to Las Vegas in 2000, she opened the Paradise Road location of Del Frisco's Double Eagle Steakhouse and spent 17 years in that world, finishing as vice president of operations. Main St. Provisions, at 1214 South Main Street in the Arts District, is her own restaurant, and she describes it as a neighborhood joint: fine-dining food and service, no special occasion required. Each night she greets guests at the door, checks on tables and runs plates herself.

Steaks first

A focused steak program anchors the menu: Creekstone Black Angus filet mignon, ribeye and a 32-ounce porterhouse, a Greater Omaha New York strip, and a Kurobuta pork chop. Starters run from oysters on the half shell and filet mignon tartare to Cajun barbecue shrimp and crabmeat au gratin. Seafood and vegetable dishes change with the season, such as a seasonal fish, seared scallops over ricotta gnocchi and a risotto with broccolini and asparagus, and sides include maitake mushrooms with bordelaise and a cavatappi mac and cheese.

Executive chef Miguel Tapia, whose resume runs from CUT by Wolfgang Puck to leading a Ruth's Chris kitchen in Minneapolis, recently took over after chef Ellie Parker won Season 24 of Hell's Kitchen and left for the East Coast job that came with it. The Las Vegas Review-Journal put Main St. Provisions on its 2026 list of the city's top 100 restaurants.

Before you go

• Dinner: Monday through Friday 4:30 to 10 p.m., Saturday 4 to 10 p.m., Sunday 4 to 9 p.m.
• Happy hour: at the bar, from opening until 6 p.m. daily
• At the bar: a 14-day barrel-aged Old Fashioned called I Know the Owner, and seasonal cocktails, some with local spirits such as Las Vegas Distillery gin
• Groups: cocktail receptions, seated dinners and corporate events with custom menus; wine tastings and other events are posted on the website

The dining room is decorated with locally sourced artwork and mid-century touches, and Owens supports local artists and works with nearby businesses.
