Garagiste Wine Room & Merchant

Bar & Lounge, Las Vegas

Listed Researched from public sources.

Arts District wine bar and bottle shop opened in 2019 by sommeliers Eric Prato and Mario Enriquez; small-production wines, 2023 James Beard semifinalist.

A garagiste is a small-scale winemaker who ignores the traditions of winemaking. The people behind Garagiste Wine Room & Merchant admit they don’t make wine, they sell it, but they took the name for the attitude: wine should be approachable and fun, and a neighborhood bar is a good place to try something unfamiliar.

Two sommeliers, one corner

Eric Prato and Mario Enriquez left sommelier jobs on the Strip and opened the wine bar and bottle shop in the Arts District at the end of 2019. Prato ran the wine program at Thomas Keller’s Bouchon Bistro before that and has 24 years in hospitality. He passed the Court of Master Sommeliers certified exam in 2012 and earned his advanced certification in 2019, and the bar’s site says he has been invited to sit for the Master Sommelier diploma exam. In 2023 the James Beard Foundation named Garagiste a semifinalist for Outstanding Bar, a national category few Las Vegas places have reached.

What’s in the glass

The list leans on small-production bottles from regions off the beaten path, mostly from Europe and the United States, with France out front. Expect reds, whites, rosé, orange, sparkling and low-intervention wines, and a list that turns over when a case runs out. The menu is posted online daily with grape, vintage and region, and flags wines that are skin-contact or served chilled. The Review-Journal counted about 30 wines by the glass in 2025, with flights and dozens more by the bottle, plus beer, cider and charcuterie with toasted sourdough.

Beyond the bar

  • Monthly four-pack: one white, one red, one sparkling and one seasonal wine, with tasting notes, a drink at pickup and a ticket to the monthly tasting
  • Premier Crew: a membership for regulars that adds retail pricing on four bottles opened in-house each month
  • Cellar curation: help stocking a home cellar to its size and budget
  • Private events at the bar

Delivery is legally limited to the City of Las Vegas, so Henderson and county residents pick up in person.

Hours: 3 to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday; 3 to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Happy hour runs 3 to 6 p.m. on weekdays.
