Desert Pet Spa

Cats have their own grooming appointments at Desert Pet Spa. The West Tropicana salon offers feline baths, brush-outs and haircuts alongside its dog grooming, with owner and head groomer Kaori, known as Ms. Kay, bringing a background that began in the United States in 1995.

Kaori grew up in Tokyo and studied art and massage before her grooming career. She operated grooming businesses before moving from Dallas to Las Vegas. Co-owner Stuart has his own long association with dogs, including experience breeding Golden Retrievers. Their biographies place two identifiable people behind this locally owned salon.

What's on the grooming menu

• A dog bath and brush includes washing, drying, brushing, nail trimming, ear cleaning and other grooming maintenance.
• The haircut and bath option adds the requested coat cut to that package.
• An optional luxury package adds services such as nail grinding, teeth brushing and extra deshedding.
• Cat services include bath-and-brush appointments and haircut options, with attention to long-haired coats.

The salon bases quotes on factors including breed, size, coat condition and requested services. Its FAQ explains that standard grooming involves breaks between stages, with the day's workload and an animal's behavior affecting the visit's length. Express appointments are a separate option to discuss with the team.

Planning a cat visit

Desert Pet Spa schedules reserved cat appointments later in the day and says it may pause or stop a session if a cat becomes uncomfortable. That is a useful detail for an owner arranging a first visit. The website provides an appointment request route and direct contact information, allowing the discussion to begin with the individual animal's coat, temperament and grooming needs.
