Wood-fired pizza on a sourdough starter from the 1897 Klondike Gold Rush, made by the White family in Huntridge Plaza on East Charleston.
In 1897, Alex White's great-great-grandfather Gilbert went north from Seattle to the Klondike gold fields, working as a miner and then a merchant, and came home in 1899 with a sourdough culture. The family has kept it alive for five generations. When Alex left for college, his father handed him his own mason jar of it. That starter is the crust at Yukon Pizza.
From the backyard to Huntridge
Alex and his brother, Cameron, both studied film at UNLV, and Dani White, who met them in college, worked in film production and on city Parks and Recreation events. Alex had been throwing pizza parties at his apartment since college. When the pandemic hit and Cameron was out of film work, the three turned the hobby into a business, taking orders through Instagram and baking out of the backyard. A local chef pointed them to the Vegas Test Kitchen, a pop-up space on East Fremont, where they spent about two years building a following. In late 2022 they opened their own shop in the Historic Huntridge Plaza on East Charleston. Dani and Alex are listed as founder and owner, with Cameron as co-owner.
Pies and a marble bar
The pizzas are wood-fired on that heirloom sourdough, with traditional pies, vegan versions and rotating specials. The house Grandpa White, when the shop opened, came with garlic oil, oregano, two kinds of mozzarella, parmesan, basil and ricotta. Sandwiches, salads and sourdough-battered bites fill out the menu. Drinks lean on small-producer natural wines, which the owners see as kin to their own wild-yeast baking, and canned beer from local breweries. Beer and wine can go home with your order.
In the neighborhood
Anyone with a SNAP or WIC card can get a free cheese slice. The owners work with Caridad on water and food drop-offs, resource drives and quarterly fundraiser pies, and say they hope to turn Yukon into an employee-owned co-op. StarChefs gave Alex, Cameron and Dani its 2026 Las Vegas Rising Stars Community Award.
The shop is open every day. Order in person, online for pickup, or through delivery apps.
