Family-owned commercial printer since 1988, run by Greta Chanin: business cards, NCR forms, brochures, convention and large-format work on East Patrick Lane.
Valley Press prints the paper a business runs on. From its shop on East Patrick Lane, the family-owned printer turns out letterhead, envelopes and business cards, carbonless NCR forms for invoices and work orders, and the brochures, flyers, postcards and newsletters that go out to customers.
Beyond the basics
- Large-format work: posters, banners, signs, window graphics and displays
- Convention printing: badges, programs and booth graphics
- Event pieces: invitations, menus and programs
- Labels, checks, custom folders and notepads
- Canvas prints and photo enlargements
- Finishing: collating, die-cutting, embossing, foil and numbering
The shop lists conventions, restaurants and hospitality, construction companies, schools, Strip vendors, and events and weddings among the work it handles. Customers who arrive without finished artwork can get design help.
Brooklyn, then Valley View, then Patrick Lane
Founder Jack Chanin grew up in Brooklyn and studied photography and printing. He served in the Air Force in the early 1950s as a gun camera technician, then spent years in New York photo labs, rising from messenger to production manager at Plymouth Photographers. In August 1988 he moved his family to Las Vegas and bought a small print shop on Valley View Boulevard.
His daughter Greta was there from the first day, at 20. Jack trained her in every job in the building, from runner to darkroom developer, plate-maker and salesperson, with no special treatment for the owner's kid. She now owns and runs Valley Press. Jack died in 2014. The business he bought on Valley View now works out of a shop on Patrick Lane, still in the family.
Hours: Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.; weekends by appointment.
