A transmission shop that plans for drivers passing through
Trans Plus 2 is a family-owned, locally run transmission shop in northwest Las Vegas, at the corner of Cheyenne and Decatur. Most of its customers are Valley residents and local businesses, but plenty of the cars on its lifts belong to visitors whose road trip went wrong somewhere on the way in. The shop built its warranties with those drivers in mind:

Who runs it
Owner Andreas Rivas has been repairing, rebuilding and installing transmissions for more than 22 years. He started out as a manager and technician at national transmission chains, then moved to Las Vegas and opened a shop of his own. He and his technicians attend the ATSG transmission seminar held in Las Vegas every year to keep up with new equipment, parts and repair procedures.
What comes through the bays
The core work is transmissions, manual and automatic, on every make of foreign and domestic car, plus light- and medium-duty trucks. The shop also handles clutches; one customer review describes a clutch and flywheel replacement finished in a single day. Estimates are free, and so is the diagnosis when you go ahead with the repair.
Reviews the shop posts on its own site mention work beyond the gearbox, too, including radiator and hose replacement, a coolant seal and routine oil changes, so it is worth a call even when the problem is not the transmission.
Hours: Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Closed Saturday and Sunday, with appointments available after hours.
