T-Bird Jewels: family-owned fine jewelry and watch service at Rampart Commons.
The name T-Bird comes from an earlier Las Vegas: Mickey Kulwin opened the jewelry business in the Thunderbird Hotel in 1962. His son Darryl Kulwin has led its growth since 1995. Today the family-owned store is at Rampart Commons, where its work includes fine jewelry, watches and care for pieces customers already own.
The move to South Rampart Boulevard in 2023 placed that long-running business in a neighborhood shopping setting. City Lifestyle’s account of the move describes a selection spanning diamond jewelry, colored stones and both Swiss and Japanese automatic watches. The family connection remains central even though the original hotel is gone.
Jewelry, watches and the work after a purchase
- Engagement rings and wedding bands, with different settings and finishes to compare.
- Fashion jewelry, including bracelets, necklaces, earrings and rings.
- Custom jewelry design, appraisals, and jewelry and watch repairs.
The current online catalog organizes jewelry by type and designer, while its educational pages explain subjects such as diamond shapes, watch terminology and wedding-band finishes. Those resources give shoppers a way to narrow the questions they bring to the store. The published service menu also makes clear that repair and appraisal work are part of the business, not simply the sale of a finished piece.
A family business with a Las Vegas history
T-Bird’s own history identifies both generations of Kulwins and traces the shop back to its hotel beginnings. The independent local feature connects that history to the present Rampart location. Customers can contact the store directly or use its appointment option to discuss a particular watch, an existing item needing attention, or a new design.
