Purple Penguin Snowcone Shack

Water Street’s Purple Penguin Snowcone Shack offers more than forty snowcone flavors, with sugar-free, color-free and real-fruit options among the choices. The small Henderson shop also serves ice cream and soft serve, making frozen treats the focus of the entire menu.

From a stand to Water Street

The business’s story begins in 2009 with its first Henderson snowcone stand. Its founders describe wanting to bring back a favorite childhood experience. In 2020, Purple Penguin opened its shop at 129 South Water Street, adding a permanent storefront and walk-up window to that original idea.

The Water Street District’s independent business profile identifies Gabe Webb as the owner. It places the shop within the neighborhood’s mix of recreation and dining, describing it as a stop after activities or while spending time downtown.

Choose your kind of cold

• Snowcones are available in a broad range of flavors and combinations.
• Dole pineapple soft serve and other soft-serve choices offer a different texture.
• Blue Bell ice cream appears in scoops and assorted pints.
• Shakes, floats, sundaes and waffle cones extend the ice-cream menu.

Sodas, custom sodas and fresh-brewed iced tea are listed too. The shop also makes its Purple Penguin Potions, pictured on the site as combinations of soda, ice cream and whipped cream.

For customers using the parking-lot ordering option, the business asks them to call only after arriving. Staff then call or text when the order is ready; the shop specifically says it does not accept orders by text. Visitors can also use the walk-up window. Those practical details make the Water Street address a straightforward destination for a quick treat or the dessert portion of a longer Henderson outing.
