Lockmaster Security Services

A locksmith you can walk into

Lockmaster Security Services keeps a showroom at 3900 N. Rancho Drive in northwest Las Vegas, where customers can stop in to have keys cut or a car fob programmed, and it sends mobile technicians out across the valley for same-day work. The locally owned company dates its locksmith service to 1989 and handles everything from a single house key to access control for an entire building.

How Mike Fuller got into locks

Owner Mike Fuller built custom cabinets until 1990, then bought into a new locksmith business with his uncle, a certified master locksmith. On his first day he was sent out to rekey a customer's Kwikset locks, with his uncle talking him through it over the phone. He went on to learn automotive work and then access control, the installation side of the trade that drew on skills he already had: maglocks, electric strikes cut into door jambs, current-transfer hinges, badge readers and door buzzers.

What the shop does

• Homes: lockouts, rekeying, and smart lock and keyless entry installs
• Cars and motorcycles: lockouts, key cutting, transponder key duplication and fob programming; chipped and tubular motorcycle keys made without damaging the ignition
• Businesses: master key systems, high-security locks, door hardware, electrified hardware and door buzzer systems, plus ProdataKey access control as a certified dealer
• Safes: combination changes, spare keys and electronic safe locks, and American-made Amsec gun safes sold from the showroom
• Keys: duplication at the counter or at your location

Credentials on record

The company says its work is supervised by a Certified Master Locksmith, the designation the Associated Locksmiths of America grants after its hardest proficiency exams, and that it is an ALOA member. It lists Nevada low-voltage contractor license 76861, which covers installing maglocks, automatic door operators and electric strikes, and a Clark County business license. Quotes are given up front with no hidden fees.
