Little White Dog Co.

Little White Dog Co. started in 2011 as a way to help friends and family with their pets, and it has grown into a team that walks dogs and sits pets across the southwest valley: Summerlin, Spring Valley, Mountain's Edge and Southern Highlands.

Desirée Andresen owns it. She is a Certified Professional Pet Sitter and is certified in pet first aid and CPR. On the About page she says she has been rescuing animals since she was a girl, starting with pigeons she nursed back to health at ten. She has also fostered a kitten from two days old, and she has volunteered with a dog rescue in Colorado.

How it starts

New clients book a free meet and greet and create an account in the company's online booking system. After that, walks and visits are booked there, and clients get visit reports with GPS tracking. The company says its sitters are staff, not contractors, and that they are licensed, insured, bonded and background checked.

What they do

• Private dog walks for people who work long hours, work odd shifts or travel
• Pet sitting visits, with a care plan built around each animal
• Wedding pet attendant: a sitter who looks after your dog for the day, with a one-hour planning consult beforehand

The About page introduces the walkers and sitters by name, with a few lines about each, so you know who may come to your door.

The FAQ explains why the company favors sitters over boarding: pets are happier and safer at home, and most animals do fine with two or three visits a day, or one a day for cats. Walks run daily between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. The phone number is 702-237-9287.
