Copper Cat Books: Henderson’s Only Independent Bookstore
Wendy Marcisofsky and her husband Anthony opened Copper Cat Books on December 9, 2017 after using a small inheritance from her parents’ estate to start the shop. Copper Cat Books is the only independent bookstore in Henderson — primarily used books with a curated selection of new releases and gift items, operating from 1570 West Horizon Ridge Parkway in the Green Valley submarket. Las Vegas Sun journalist John M. Glionna has written that it is “the greatest little bookstore in all of Sin City.”
The Copper Cat Books inventory leans toward genre fiction, classics, local-author titles, and a strong children’s and young-adult section that has made the store a regular field-trip destination for Henderson schools. The shop hosts author events, book clubs, and the kind of small-bookstore programming that keeps a single-location independent viable in a market dominated by national online retail.
Copper Cat Books in the Las Vegas Valley
Henderson is the second-largest city in Nevada and Copper Cat Books is the only independent bookstore inside its city limits. The Horizon Ridge Parkway location anchors Copper Cat in the Green Valley residential submarket, walking distance from The District at Green Valley Ranch.
