Mad Red Books: new, used and rare books on South Eastern Avenue.
A gift of an eighteenth-century book helped steer Joshua Dana toward rare-book collecting. His interest now shapes Mad Red Books, the independent shop he opened on South Eastern Avenue on July 4, 2025.
Dana started the business online before finding its storefront in Sansone Park Place. Local reporting connects the name to his family: “MAD” and “RED” come from his mother's and sister's initials. His own collecting interests include Revolutionary War material, but the store reaches well beyond that specialty.
