Brasserie Saint James

Brasserie Saint James is a restaurant and bar at 901 South Center Street in Reno, in the old Crystal Springs building. Edible Reno-Tahoe reported that on June 1, 2025 it was sold to sister and brother Ana Lauren and Selin Córdova, who are originally from Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia, and whose family has nearly two decades of restaurant experience. The previous chef and owner was Lewis Pierrott.

The building

The Reno Historical site says the mission-style building was finished in June 1930 as an ice plant, after a well was drilled to water at 285 feet, and that it later turned to bottled water. After a major renovation, it reopened in 2012 as Brasserie Saint James, a restaurant and brewery using water from the property’s artesian wells. The restaurant’s site describes brick walls, a fireplace, outdoor seating and “14 years” of serving the community.

What the new owners did

According to Edible Reno-Tahoe, the Córdovas planned to keep the classic dishes and add their own touches, and created a retail area just for locally made products. The magazine said an official launch of the refreshed brand, with a renovated patio and rooftop, was planned for July 14, 2025.

Menu, hours and events

The website serves brunch, lunch and dinner and lists a crab and artichoke skillet, mac and cheese, a honey harissa salmon bowl and pizza among its featured dishes, with oysters, mussels, a lobster roll, poutine and croque madame among the dishes it says it is known for. Drinks include craft beer, cocktails, wine and espresso.

Listed hours are 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday and 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday. The site offers reservations, online ordering for pickup or delivery, catering, and space for corporate gatherings, weddings and private celebrations.
