Verko’s Vault in Las Vegas: a fantasy-miniature museum, painting and sculpting workshops and a model shop run by Gary Sparks.
A collection that grew out of a game
Verko’s Vault is a miniature-art museum and shop at 11410 Dean Martin Drive in Las Vegas. The website says it is run by Gary Sparks, known as “Lord Verko,” the name of his character in a Dungeons & Dragons campaign that the site says has run for nearly half a century. His interest in role-playing led him to collect miniatures.
The museum’s About page says the collection reached a turning point around 2019, growing in size and quality with the acquisition of the Kimera Models and Pegaso Models box art collections. Box art, the page explains, is the officially painted version of a commercial figure shown on its packaging. The site now says the collection holds more than 20,000 miniatures by hundreds of artists, and calls the museum “the world’s first Museum of Fantasy Miniatures.” These are the museum’s own claims.
Visiting
The museum’s website gave October 8, 2026 as its opening date and lists hours of Thursday through Monday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., with last entry at 6 p.m. Admission prices are not published on the main page; it links to ticket sales on the store site. A temporary exhibit of Ray Harryhausen’s stop-motion creatures, with original models, props, sketches and storyboards from films such as Clash of the Titans and Jason and the Argonauts, is listed for October 8, 2026 to May 30, 2027.
Classes and shop
The building has two workshop rooms. The site says painting classes run monthly and sculpting classes, both traditional and digital, once or twice a year. Two rentable fantasy-themed gaming rooms, the Grotto and the Cottage, are listed as not yet available.
The online store sells resin model kits, paints, brushes and tools, and a retail shop in the museum building is open during workshops and most Vegas Paint Club events, according to the site.
Outside records
The Small Subjects scale-modeling podcast devoted a 2024 episode to the project, saying its hosts got “the full run-down” on plans for a large miniature museum. Clark County’s October 2025 list of new business licenses includes Verko’s Vault LLC on Dean Martin Drive.
