Stone Sports: swim lessons, scuba training and outdoor gear on Fort Apache Road.
An indoor pool and a ski-rental counter may seem like an unusual combination in Las Vegas. At Stone Sports, both belong to a family-run business organized around learning and outdoor recreation. Jie Liang is identified as the owner in Nevada's public postsecondary-education commission records.
The company began as Love Your Home, LLC in 2011 and has used the Stone Sports name since 2015, according to its own history. Its southwest Las Vegas location is on South Fort Apache Road.
In the water
Stone Sports developed its FISH swim program around fun, intuitive learning, safety and health. Classes run in a heated indoor pool throughout the year. The published levels include Parent & Baby, Safe Swimming, Swim Perfect, Pre-Team and Adult Swim, with placement based on age and experience.
Adults can take group or private lessons, whether they are becoming comfortable in water or working on their strokes. Standard group and private lessons are thirty minutes; Pre-Team follows a different schedule. A parent portal and trial-class booking are available online.
The scuba side offers training through PADI, NAUI and SSI, with pool work followed by open-water dives. PADI independently lists the business as a dive center. Stone Sports also advertises scuba equipment sales, rentals and organized trips.
For mountain days, too
The outdoor shop rents skis and snowboards by the day or season and describes equipment tuning and boot-fitting capabilities. Its local setting puts swim instruction, dive preparation and winter-sport gear under one roof.
Visitors can call or text the store to discuss the appropriate class, required equipment or rental arrangements before coming in.
