Stitcher’s Paradise
Needlework Shop, Las Vegas / Las Vegas Valley
Researched from public sources.
Gina Schafer and Nancy Livesay’s Las Vegas specialty shop carries cross-stitch and needlepoint supplies, charts, fabrics and threads.
A wall of thread, stitched models and shelves of charts are central to Stitcher’s Paradise, the needlework shop on South Rainbow Boulevard. Owned by Gina Schafer and Nancy Livesay, it specializes in cross-stitch and needlepoint rather than a broad assortment of unrelated crafts.
Materials for the whole project
The shop’s documented range includes threads, charts, fabrics and accessories. NeedleTravel identifies both of its principal specialties, and Needlepoint Now lists the Rainbow Boulevard store among its retailers. Alice Peterson Company also includes Stitcher’s Paradise in its retail-store directory, connecting the shop with a needlepoint designer and supplier.
Needlework Retailer featured the business in its January/February 2018 issue. The photographs show owners Gina and Nancy in front of the thread wall, the main aisle, finished work displayed around the store and stitchers gathered at a back table. The feature provides a record of a shop organized around both supplies and the work people make with them.
Patterns, colors and finished examples
NeedleTravel’s visitor accounts describe cross-stitch charts arranged by designer and finished models on display. Those examples let shoppers see how a chart develops into a completed piece while browsing fabrics and thread colors for their own project. The combination of charts, canvases, fabric and thread is the core of the store’s specialty.
The business remains listed by needlework manufacturers and publications at its South Rainbow address. The published shop phone and email provide a direct way to ask Gina and Nancy’s team about a particular chart, canvas or material before making the trip.
