Porrada Training Center: Marcelo Nunes’s jiu-jitsu, striking and MMA gym.
Beginners and experienced competitors share the training floor at Porrada Training Center. Owner Marcelo Nunes leads the Las Vegas martial arts gym, which offers Brazilian jiu-jitsu, striking and mixed martial arts for different ages and experience levels.
Nunes is a black belt with competitive grappling and MMA experience. Independent gym directories identify him as head coach and corroborate the center's South Decatur Boulevard location. The teaching roster also includes Camarin Nunes, Drew Palomo, Ronny Markes, Carl Seumanutafa, Gustavo Rigali Jr. and Ramon Ogo.
Pick a discipline and a class
Porrada separates its programs so students can explore the kind of training that interests them. The website describes jiu-jitsu and striking options for children and adults, along with an MMA program. Its schedule includes weekday and Saturday sessions.
The center presents itself as a place where a new student can train alongside people with much more experience without needing a competition background to start. Coaches discuss students' reasons for training and their goals, whether that means learning a new skill or preparing for a contest.
Try the mats before committing
The gym advertises a two-day trial for prospective students. That gives a newcomer a way to see the facility and ask about class format, scheduling and equipment before choosing ongoing training. Current details are available through the center rather than assuming every class suits every age or skill level.
Teamwork, discipline and steady practice recur throughout Porrada's description of its coaching. Its facilities include a cage as well as mat space, reflecting the combination of grappling and MMA work. The published phone number and email connect directly to the local center for class questions and an initial visit.
