Michael Buckham’s downtown workshop makes essential-oil blends, mineral soaks, soaps and body-care products.
Michael Buckham makes the products sold at Mike’s Recovery in the same downtown setting where customers encounter them. His Fergusons shop carries mineral bath soaks, soaps, body oils and other scented personal-care products, with essential-oil blending at the center of the work.
From massage work to making products
Buckham moved to Las Vegas from Wales and worked in gyms while attending massage school. His experience with massage clients helped shape the idea for a product business. The company’s own history dates its start to 2016.
In a 2023 Vegas Inc interview, Buckham described beginning with a small investment and making early batches in a garage. He initially partnered with Max Jacobson-Fried of Freed’s Bakery, then bought out that partnership. The article identified the operation as locally run even as its products reached larger retail and spa accounts.
One early route to new customers was unusually direct: soaps placed in local restaurant restrooms. Buckham told Vegas Inc that people at PublicUs began asking about the scent after washing their hands.
What is in the current collection
- Mineral soaks and liquid soaps appear in several named scent blends.
- Massage and body oils sit alongside salt scrubs and balms.
- The facial line includes cleansers, toner and oil.
- Roll-ons, lip balm and smaller products offer other formats for the blends.
The business organizes its online shop both by product type and by blend. That makes it possible to browse a particular format or look for a familiar scent across several products. The names describe the company’s collections; they are not a substitute for an individual product’s ingredients and directions.
The shop is in Suite 174 at Fergusons Downtown. Customers can browse in person or through the online store, which also provides information for wholesale inquiries.
