Khoury's Fine Wine & Spirits
Wine Shop, Las Vegas
Researched from public sources.
Issa Khoury's southeast Valley bottle shop since 2004: boutique wine, craft beer and small-batch spirits, with 20 taps and wines by the glass to drink on site.
A bottle shop with a bar in it
At Khoury’s Fine Wine & Spirits, off South Eastern Avenue in the southeast Valley, you can pick a bottle to take home or sit down with a glass first. The shop pours a rotating list of wines by the glass and 20 draft beers in its lounge and on the patio, and for years it has been as much a hangout as a store.
Issa Khoury opened the store in 2004. He grew up in Elko, where his parents, Bassam and Nawal, run their own shop, and in a 2022 Las Vegas Weekly interview he credited his father with teaching him early that a business grows by connecting with its community. He started Khoury’s because the big-box stores carried the big names while smaller producers went unnoticed.
What fills the shelves
- Wine: nearly every varietal, from boutique labels to familiar names such as Rombauer, The Prisoner and Herman Story
- Beer: cans, bottles and the 20 taps, plus a cooler set aside for local breweries including Able Baker, Astronomy Aleworks, Tenaya Creek, CraftHaus, Bad Beat and Lovelady
- Spirits: small-batch bourbon, Scotch, cognac, rum, tequila and vodka
If a bottle is not in stock, the staff will chase down special orders, including tiny-production and unusual finds.
The room and the calendar
A 2022 remodel took over the space next door. It added seating, a longer patio with picnic tables, a ceiling built from wine barrels over the front seating area, and a glass-walled wine cellar that now anchors the room. The taps themselves have grown from three, when draft beer arrived in 2010, to today’s 20.
Food trucks park outside, Wednesday is trivia night, and the year brings case-lot wine sales, a Halloween party, a September anniversary party and a St. Baldrick’s charity event. For its 2022 anniversary the shop teamed up on special releases with Herman Story, Desparada and Able Baker Brewing. The patio and tables can be reserved for private celebrations.
Hours: Sunday and Monday 10 a.m.–8 p.m.; Tuesday through Saturday 10 a.m.–10 p.m., per the store’s website.
