Listed Seat #295 is saved for this business.

Jerky Junction is a family-run Carson City jerky maker, founded in 1992, that sells its own label and does private-label and co-packing work for other brands.

Jerky Junction is a Carson City jerky maker run by Kyle and Sarah Baird. Edible Reno-Tahoe and KOLO 8 News both report that it was started in Southern California in 1992 by Kyle’s father, Andy Baird, who is described as late, and that Kyle and Sarah now lead it. A retailer that sells the brand calls it “one hundred percent family owned.”

The Carson City plant

In 2025 the company opened a retrofitted 16,000-square-foot facility at 3880 Technology Way. Edible Reno-Tahoe dates the opening to July 10, 2025 and says it replaced a smaller operation in Mound House. KOLO reported that the plant produces roughly 30,000 pounds of jerky a month, and Edible adds that it includes a small retail area. KOLO says customers can buy in person or order online.

What it makes

Jerky Junction sells jerky under its own label and also makes it for other brands. Edible describes the work as private-label manufacturing and co-packing. The third-party store that carries the brand describes its beef as steak-cut U.S. beef made in small batches, and lists boar, turkey and salmon too. Edible Reno-Tahoe mentions exotic meats such as snapping turtle, camel, kangaroo and python.

Recognition

Reno News & Review reported in June 2026 that the U.S. Small Business Administration named Jerky Junction Northern Nevada’s family-owned small business of the year. The article says owners Sarah and Kyle Baird accepted the award at a May ceremony in Las Vegas, that the company has 47 workers, and that it makes unusual flavors such as python and yak. It quotes the SBA praising the company’s private-label and co-packing services for other small brands in the region.
