Katie makes the soap herself, in Henderson, and signs her notes to customers “XO, Katie.” HandCraft Skincare is a small online skincare shop: bar soaps, facial care and lip balms, sold from its own website and shipped, with free ground shipping on orders of $35 or more, the site says.

What goes in the bar

HandCraft’s About page says the products are made by hand in Henderson, Nevada, “from ethically sourced domestic and global components.” Colors come from clays and herbs, and scent from essential oils; the page says there are no synthetic dyes or fragrances. It also lists what the products leave out: palm oil, parabens, phthalates, SLS and formaldehyde.

The page calls the line plant-based and mostly vegan, with the exceptions being products made with goat milk or beeswax. That is worth reading for yourself on each product page if you shop by ingredient. As with any skincare maker, the About page carries the standard note that its statements have not been evaluated by the FDA.

The shop

The website sorts the range into three collections: Natural Nourishing Soap, Put Your Best Face Forward and Love Your Lips. The About page also mentions a body salt scrub, and the contact page asks, “Looking for custom gifts?” with a separate Custom Gift Inquiries page for those requests.

HandCraft Skincare has been on local television, too. KTNV’s Las Vegas morning show ran a segment in February 2023 showing the company’s handcrafted soaps and Valentine’s Day gift sets in scents such as champagne, pinot noir and lavender.

Made in Nevada, a directory of Nevada makers, lists HandCraft Skincare as a Henderson company with Katie as maker and owner. Her last name does not appear on the sources we read, and HandCraft does not publish a storefront address, so it works as an online shop.
