Desmond Associates: Robert Desmond’s landscape architecture practice for Nevada projects.
Robert “Rob” Desmond works on the outdoor spaces between buildings as much as the planting around them. His Las Vegas firm, Desmond Associates, provides landscape architecture for residential, commercial and public projects throughout Southern Nevada.
Desmond identifies himself as the owner and a Nevada registered landscape architect. His firm's professional profile likewise names him as founder and describes a small, privately held practice. Las Vegas is his home base, with a service area that includes Henderson, North Las Vegas, Boulder City, Mesquite and Pahrump.
Design at several scales
The project list ranges from custom homes and water-saving landscape conversions to parks, playgrounds, trails and streetscapes. Commercial and industrial developments, public plazas, community planning and environmental restoration also fall within the firm's stated experience.
That breadth is reflected in its process. Early work can include site analysis, programming and concept studies. Desmond then develops planting, irrigation, hardscape, lighting and amenity designs, with documentation that supports bidding and construction.
Beyond a concept drawing
The practice offers technical specifications, estimates, construction administration and post-construction evaluation. It can also help with presentations, visualization, maintenance planning and entitlement-related material. Clients can establish the appropriate scope rather than assume that every project needs the same package.
Desmond's professional description emphasizes coordination with developers, architects, engineers, artists and contractors. His work includes both explaining design intent to clients and reviewing materials or shop drawings during construction. The public portfolio contains residential, campus, park and mixed-use examples, while separate artwork and photography reflect his interest in Nevada's landscape. A direct conversation with the firm is the starting point for discussing a site and its requirements.
