CR ClayCraft: handmade pottery and Nevada-inspired ceramic lamps.
A photograph of Pahranagat Lake can become the shade above a handmade ceramic lamp at CR ClayCraft. Christina Rote's Las Vegas pottery business draws on Nevada's landscapes, wildlife and history while making objects intended for daily use.
Rote first encountered pottery as a child. Her Made in Nevada account describes decades of learning and practice before she built a Nevada studio in 2022 and developed the business. The initials in CR ClayCraft belong to the maker herself.
From clay to the table
The shop's functional range includes mugs, tea cups, bowls and plates. Vases, planters, trays and utensil holders move the work into other parts of a home, while coordinated bathroom pieces extend it beyond the kitchen.
Rote shapes, glazes and fires her work in her local studio. The catalog shows different colors and finishes across forms, allowing a cup or bowl to be considered as a handmade object as well as a container with a practical purpose.
Light and a Nevada view
Lamps are another part of the collection. Ceramic bases are paired with shades featuring Nevada photography, bringing two kinds of making into one piece. The Blue Beach Lamp with a Pahranagat Lake shade is a specific example of that approach.
The landscape connection therefore appears through both material choices and imagery. A customer looking at the pottery can find usable tableware; someone drawn to the lamps can also find a recognizable view of the state.
CR ClayCraft maintains an online shop and publishes a Las Vegas contact address on South Decatur Boulevard. It also invites conversations about custom ideas and wholesale work, giving individuals and retailers a route to discuss something beyond the listed pieces.
Its scale remains closely tied to Rote's own studio practice: one maker producing a range of clay objects, with Nevada providing a recurring subject rather than a generic decorative theme.
