Family doughnut maker since 1966, now run by the founders’ family: classic and fancy doughnuts, croissants, quiches and espresso on East Sunset Road.
From a 1966 doughnut counter to East Sunset Road
Carl and Lyn Sanders moved their doughnut business from California to Las Vegas in 1966. Their granddaughter has said the first shop stood on Martin Luther King Boulevard. In the 1990s the family closed the storefront to concentrate on wholesale baking and delivery, supplying doughnuts to convenience stores around the Valley, and that side of the business still runs.
Retail came back in 2018 with this shop on East Sunset Road, east of the airport, where the reopening décor included old newspapers and photos of Carl and Lyn. Dave and Ranee Ramsay own Carl’s today; their children Brock and Amber Ramsay, the founders’ grandchildren, help lead it, and more of the family works in the business.
What is in the case
- Classics: glazed, maple and chocolate bars, glazed, chocolate and maple old-fashioneds, cake doughnuts such as devil’s food, cinnamon crumb and toasted coconut, and pink sprinkle

The coffee side
The drink menu reaches well past drip coffee: espresso, flat whites, lattes, cold brew and nitro cold brew, matcha and chai lattes, hot chocolate and fresh orange juice, with a long list of syrups running from vanilla and hazelnut to toasted marshmallow and cookie butter.
Hours: Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday, 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.
