Biggest Little Baby brings a shop, movement classes and family support into one South Virginia Street location. Owners Erin Hansen and Sarah Walton have different professional backgrounds, but both came to the Reno business through work with parents and babies.
Two paths into the same community
Hansen grew up in Reno and became a massage therapist in 2011. She joined the business under its earlier name, Nurturing Nest, in 2016. Her work includes pregnancy massage, baby massage instruction and strength classes. Becoming a parent herself added another perspective to her work with local families.
Walton’s route included Reno’s youth music and arts community, followed by birth and postpartum doula training in Portland. After returning to Reno in 2015, they started Bright Heart Birth Services and rented space at Nurturing Nest. Those connections eventually developed into their current role with Biggest Little Baby.
Beyond the retail shelves
The baby store operates seven days a week, while the class calendar brings people together for activities such as prenatal yoga, barre and chair yoga. Baby massage and parent support circles add opportunities centered on the changing needs of a household with a young child. The current schedule distinguishes recurring activities from individual workshops.
