Vegas Weddings: Cliff Evarts’ Three-Decade Downtown Wedding Operation
Cliff Evarts left commercial real estate in 2001 to start Vegas Weddings on Third Street in downtown Las Vegas, near the regional courthouse. In August 2008 Evarts opened a three-million-dollar multi-venue chapel building designed to look like an English country church — Swarovski crystal chandeliers, stained glass, cathedral ceiling, grand piano, capacity one hundred. Vegas Weddings has spent the past two decades quietly consolidating the iconic downtown wedding industry: Evarts took over Viva Las Vegas Wedding Chapel in November 2020 and acquired A Little White Wedding Chapel from longtime owner Charolette Richards in recent years.
Vegas Weddings remains Evarts’ flagship and is one of the largest locally owned wedding operations in the city. The 555 South Third Street location handles ceremonies, planning, photography, and the full Las Vegas wedding experience — from short courthouse-adjacent ceremonies through full traditional weddings with the architectural drama of the 2008 chapel build. The Vegas Weddings Yelp page carries over five hundred reviews and an extensive photo gallery documenting two decades of valley ceremonies.
Vegas Weddings in the Las Vegas Valley
Downtown Las Vegas is the historical center of the city’s wedding industry — the regional courthouse for Clark County marriage licenses sits at 200 Lewis Avenue, two blocks from Vegas Weddings. Cliff Evarts’ acquisitions of Viva Las Vegas and A Little White Wedding Chapel — the latter the site of the 2004 Britney Spears and Jason Alexander ceremony — make Vegas Weddings the operating steward of a meaningful slice of the Las Vegas Valley’s wedding cultural history.
