Nevada Tree Service: Six Decades of Tree Work in the Las Vegas Valley

Nevada Tree Service has been pruning and removing valley trees since 1962 — by most accounts the oldest continuously operating tree-care business in Southern Nevada. Frank Shill bought the company in 2000 and has run it as a family operation ever since, now serving Las Vegas and Henderson with the kind of generational continuity that is rare in the trade. The Lake Mead Boulevard office at 7477 West Lake Mead anchors Nevada Tree Service in the northwest valley, and the company’s long history means it has worked through multiple cycles of valley growth, drought management, and changes in arboriculture practice.

Nevada Tree Service handles residential and commercial pruning, removal, palm skinning and trimming, stump grinding, and emergency storm damage response across the Las Vegas Valley. The Lake Mead Boulevard corridor in northwest Las Vegas has been the company’s anchor since well before the Summerlin master plan was built out, and Nevada Tree Service has worked on canopy trees that predate most of the current residential neighborhoods in the area.

Nevada Tree Service in the Las Vegas Valley

A continuous operating history stretching back to 1962 puts Nevada Tree Service in a category very few service businesses in Las Vegas occupy at all. The valley’s suburban explosion really began in the 1990s; Nevada Tree Service was already three decades old by the time the modern Las Vegas Valley took its current shape. For homeowners with mature pines, eucalyptus, ash, or palm trees that were planted during earlier valley eras, that institutional knowledge of how Las Vegas trees actually behave over decades is hard to replicate.
