Lori and Rob’s owner-operated pet supply store serves south Reno from Galena Junction.
Pet supplies at the foot of Mount Rose Highway
Natural Paws is an owner-operated pet food and supply shop in the Galena Junction center on Wedge Parkway. Lori Dotterweich and Rob Burks run the south Reno business, combining everyday supplies for cats and dogs with a continuing involvement in local animal rescue.
The owners describe the store as a neighborhood operation whose team lives and works in the area. Their own rescue dogs are part of the shop’s story, but the community connection extends beyond the family: Natural Paws has hosted adoption gatherings and fundraising events and donates pet food to rescue organizations and Pets of the Homeless.
Food, gear and things to chew
The food selection spans raw, freeze-dried and dehydrated products as well as other dog and cat formulas. Special orders are welcome. Rather than publishing a single diet as the answer for every animal, the shop gives customers a place to ask about the products it carries and compare the available formats.
- Bones and chews, plus toys intended for different kinds of play.
- Collars, leashes, coats and sweaters.
- Pet beds, outdoor gear and accessories for dogs and cats.
The owners’ outdoor interests are visible in both the product range and events such as Hike for Hounds. Their Mutts in May adoption activities and Wag It Forward fundraising program are other examples of how the retail business has supported animal organizations.
Natural Paws is in the Raley’s shopping center near the base of Mount Rose Highway. Its published schedule includes daily opening, with selected holiday closures. Customers can contact the store directly about stock, a special order or the next community event before visiting.
