Mr. Camera: Forty-Five Years of Las Vegas Broadcast Production
Mr. Camera was founded by Don and Becky Jacobs in 1981 as a Las Vegas broadcast production company; their son Dan Jacobs now runs it as owner and executive producer. With forty-five years of continuous operation, Mr. Camera carries institutional knowledge across broadcast, corporate, commercial, and convention video work, and owns its broadcast-grade equipment outright — unusual for a market that mostly rents from rental houses. The Spring Valley operation works out of 6795 South Edmond Street, third floor.
Dan Jacobs is active with the UNLV Innevation Center and has spoken publicly about the realities of running a multi-decade family video business in a freelance-driven city. Mr. Camera handles the kind of production work that Las Vegas’s convention, trade-show, broadcast, and corporate clients require — multi-camera shoots, location production, post, and the equipment depth that makes single-vendor delivery possible.
Mr. Camera in the Las Vegas Valley
The Decatur Boulevard corridor in Spring Valley is one of the city’s media-and-services anchors, with proximity both to the Strip convention venues and to the McCarran Airport corridor. Mr. Camera predates the modern Las Vegas convention-and-trade-show video boom by two decades — Don and Becky Jacobs were producing Las Vegas video content when most of today’s convention business didn’t yet exist in the valley. Forty-five years on, Mr. Camera is one of the longest continuously operating family-owned video production companies in Las Vegas.
