Integrative Acupuncture

Rachel Kohl returned to her hometown in 2013 to open an acupuncture practice with her husband, Michael Ferris. A fourth-generation Las Vegas native, she now directs Integrative Acupuncture, where Ferris is co-owner and a treating practitioner.

Kohl studied psychology at UNLV before training in acupuncture and Oriental Medicine at Pacific College in San Diego. Her career has also included teaching and operational work at Wongu University and its health center, along with mentoring students in private practice.

Ferris came to Chinese medicine after spending more than a decade in Taiwan working as a Mandarin translator. His biography describes teaching Chinese language and needling techniques at Wongu, as well as service on Nevada's Oriental Medicine board. His stated clinical emphasis is orthopedic acupuncture for pain-related concerns.

A team with different backgrounds

The practice's current provider page also introduces other clinicians, including Karin Moeller, whose earlier work included massage and training in Tuina. She worked as an assistant in the office while pursuing her Oriental Medicine degree before beginning practice there.

Acupuncture is the central service. The published menu also includes Chinese herbal medicine and related traditional modalities. Patients can use the contact form to describe their questions or telephone the office to discuss scheduling.

Integrative Acupuncture is listed at 5594 South Fort Apache Road, Suite 110, in Las Vegas. Wongu University's practitioner directory independently publishes the practice, address, phone number and business email.

The owners' histories give the business a particular local character: Kohl's return to the city where her family has longstanding roots and Ferris's language and teaching background meet in the same practice. The current biographies explain their separate roles rather than presenting the office as an anonymous clinic.
