The front counter at Frank's European Service has a phrase for its main job: translating technician to human. Owner Frank Scandura has said customers buy trust rather than parts, and he hires service advisors for how they relate to people first, since the car knowledge can be taught. In practice that means digital vehicle inspections with reports you can see for yourself, recommendations ranked by priority so you can plan future work, and repairs limited to what the car needs.

European cars, and plenty of others

The shop on North Rainbow Boulevard, just outside Summerlin, has specialized in European makes since 2001: Mercedes-Benz (including the Metris van and Maybach), BMW, Audi, Volkswagen, Porsche, Jaguar, Land Rover, Mini and Smart. It also services Lexus, Lincoln, Toyota hybrids and Teslas, among other American and Asian makes, and does wheel alignments. Its diagnostic tools and software are matched to the vehicles it works on.

About Frank

Scandura started out as a young hobbyist and has more than 40 years in the automotive trade, over 25 of them running his own service center. His book, How To Take Care Of Your Vehicle So It Will Take Care Of You, covers maintenance myths, commonly neglected service items and preventive care, and he has written for national trade magazines. He also coaches other auto shop owners on running their businesses. He and his wife, Deborah, serve in their local church and other community causes.

Hours: Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The shop serves drivers from Summerlin, Canyon Gate, The Lakes, Sun City, Spring Valley, Henderson, North Las Vegas and the rest of the valley.
