Cactus Collective Weddings

Wedding Planner, Las Vegas / Las Vegas Valley

Listed Researched from public sources.

Las Vegas elopement and micro-wedding company since 2017: officiant, photographer, succulent florals and permits in one package, at Red Rock and beyond.

It started with her own elopement

McKenzi Taylor got engaged in 2016 and wanted a short engagement and a wedding for just the two of them. Living in Las Vegas put plenty of quick-ceremony options on her doorstep, and none of them felt right. So she planned her own: an intimate ceremony with her partner, Matt, in Red Rock Canyon, pulled together with vendors she knew from other wedding work. Guessing that other couples wanted the same thing without the legwork, she opened Cactus Collective Weddings in 2017.

What one booking covers

The company plans elopements and micro weddings, most of them outdoors. Every package includes the officiant, the photographer, the flowers, and the venue reservation and permits, with one point of contact from inquiry to ceremony. The elopement package for two, for example, includes:

  • A 10-minute religious or non-denominational ceremony, with the option of personal vows, and legal filing of the marriage certificate
  • A photographer at the ceremony and for a portrait session afterward, with an online gallery and all image rights
  • A succulent bouquet and boutonniere, each wrapped so it can be replanted
  • A host who sets up and takes down the site and can serve as your legal witness

Prices are quoted per wedding, based on venue, guest count, season and extras. Venues include Red Rock Canyon, Valley of Fire, Eldorado Canyon, the Black Hills, downtown Las Vegas and the Strip, and the company also plans weddings in San Diego. It handles vow renewals and LGBTQIA weddings too. Some couples book years ahead; the team says it has pulled weddings together in 24 hours.

Weddings with a lighter footprint

Taylor, a rock climber, built conservation into the business from the start, first by steering couples away from decorations and toward eco-friendly options, and later through support for the Southern Nevada Conservancy and Leave No Trace. Taylor serves on the board of the Las Vegas chapter of the Wedding International Professionals Association, and the Clark County Clerk's wedding site has turned to her, as owner and founder, for advice on the best seasons to marry. By the company's own count it has organized more than 1,000 Las Vegas weddings, for couples from 15 countries.
