Armor Coatings

Brian Arfons spent 20 years in the corporate world and says he got tired of building someone else's dream. He wanted to make something with his hands that his kids could point to. His father was a general contractor, and Brian grew up watching him do things the right way even when it wasn't the easy way. He and his wife started Armor Coatings in Las Vegas on that idea. The About page says outright that it is not a franchise.

What goes on the floor

Armor coats concrete: garage floors, patios, pool decks, showrooms, office entrances and commercial floors. A typical garage job on the site runs through a color and flake consultation, surface prep and concrete repair, a polyurea basecoat, decorative flake and a clear polyaspartic topcoat. The site also lists epoxy options, a page of colors and finishes, and a tool for picturing a floor in your own space.

Promises on paper

• The site advertises one-day installs on many jobs. Ask about your floor's prep time.
• It lists a limited lifetime manufacturer warranty, and a 20-year workmanship warranty on its flake garage system.
• Financing has its own page.

Where and when

The site lists Henderson, Summerlin, Boulder City, Pahrump, Spring Valley, Aliante, Centennial Hills, Mountain's Edge and a long list of valley neighborhoods. The office line is open Monday to Saturday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., at (702) 702-1329, and estimates start with a form on the website or an email to info@armorcoatingslv.com.
