## From Little Brazil Street to Fort Apache Road

The Gomes family’s Via Brasil story began in New York, where Luis Gomes opened the original Via Brasil on Manhattan’s Little Brazil Street in 1978. On October 23, 2008, Luis and his son Adam opened Via Brasil Steakhouse in Summerlin, and Adam and Anna Gomes have run it day to day ever since. Anna has also used the restaurant to raise money for Las Vegas charities through food donations and events, supporting groups such as Angels of Las Vegas and Miracle Flights.

### How the rodizio works

Dinner is a fixed-price, all-you-can-eat churrasco. Meat chefs carry 19 fire-roasted cuts on skewers from table to table and carve them onto your plate: picanha, flank, ribeye, beef rib, lamb, chicken and linguiça, along with garlic-grilled shrimp and salmon. A two-sided card sets the pace. Green means keep it coming, red means pause. Warm sides arrive at the table too, including pão de queijo, farofa, plantains, garlic rice and beans.

Every rodizio includes the Chef’s Table, a spread of more than 50 items: salads and seasonal vegetables, shrimp salad and ceviche, aged manchego and smoked gouda, prosciutto and mortadella, hot soup, and Brazilian dishes such as feijoada, coxinha and hearts of palm. Guests who don’t eat meat can dine from the Chef’s Table alone at a lower price.

### Weekends, drinks and parties

- **Brunch:** Saturday and Sunday, with rodizio, made-to-order omelets, waffles, crepes and pancakes, and bottomless mimosas
- **Bar:** caipirinhas, a smoky old fashioned, a passionfruit Brazilian spritz, wine, and a happy hour menu
