Today, David and his son Cameron run Southgate Automotive, carrying that family history into an independent Reno repair business on Louie Lane. ## Three generations around the workbench David joined Southgate Chevron in 1983 and became owner of the independent automotive shop in 1995, according to the company's staff history. Cameron grew up around his father and grandfather's work and is now identified as a co-owner. The business's current website describes a particular focus on Asian and American vehicles. The staff biography identifies David's work in computer diagnostics and vehicle maintenance. It also describes Cameron's ongoing diesel-repair training. Those are distinct areas of the shop's experience, rather than a claim that every vehicle needs the same service. ### Maintenance and mechanical problems - Oil changes and scheduled maintenance. - Brake, steering and suspension work. - Heating and air-conditioning service. - Engine diagnostics, electrical troubleshooting and transmission repairs. Southgate's current service information includes routine care as well as investigation of a specific problem. Customers can discuss symptoms, vehicle history and the work they are seeking when requesting an appointment. ## Tires and practical arrangements Tire sales and repair are another part of the operation. The shop provides help with tire sizing and inflation questions as well as replacement purchases. Its website lists an early pickup box and publishes weekday service hours, while the staff page invites customers to ask about special scheduling accommodations. The Taylor family's Reno business is independently listed by BBB at the same Louie Lane address. For an appointment or a question about a particular car, truck or SUV, Southgate provides a direct phone number and a service-request option on its website. ## Contact Southgate Automotive 5303 Louie Lane, Unit 3, Reno, NV 89511 [Business website](https://www.southgateautomotive.com/) 775-825-1919 Researched October 2, 2026.
