Owner Samantha Stremmel sells houseplants, succulents, air plants and gifts there, with locally made ceramic pots connecting the shop to another part of the neighborhood's creative life. ## How the garden moved indoors Samantha and her husband Sutter moved to Reno in 2010 after graduating from Montana State University. They bought the outdoor Sierra Water Gardens property and operated a water-garden nursery beside the Truckee River. After almost eight years, they changed direction: the outdoor retail business closed, and Samantha's indoor plant pop-up across the street became a permanent store. That distinction matters for a first visit. Today's plant shopping happens at the indoor warehouse location at 2055 Dickerson Road. The former outdoor garden is a separate, appointment-based event setting managed through The Hytch, not the everyday retail plant shop. ## Plants beside local pottery The indoor selection includes different sizes and types of succulents, air plants and other houseplants, alongside gifts for the home and garden. The Stremmels also established The Wedge Ceramics Studio in 2011. Local ceramic artists make pots that are sold at Sierra Water, so a plant can be paired with a container made in the same community. Reno Tahoe's tourism coverage independently identifies Samantha and the indoor store, while local news documented the transition away from the original outdoor nursery. Together with the shop's own story, those sources show a small business that adapted its format while staying on Dickerson Road. Sierra Water publishes a direct plant-shop email and phone number for questions about the current selection. The retail focus is now firmly indoors, with plants, pots and gifts sharing the warehouse space. ## Contact Sierra Water 2055 Dickerson Road, Reno, NV 89503 [Business website](https://www.sierrawatergardens.com/) 775-345-5806 Researched October 3, 2026.
