## The showroom comes to your driveway

Roomers Window Fashions & More skips the trip to a store full of swatches. Owner Maureen Kapral brings the store to the house in a customized van carrying hundreds of options, so colors, fabrics and styles can be judged against your own walls and your own light. From there it runs in three steps: a design consultation at home, professional measuring with a quote, and installation by a certified Hunter Douglas installer.

### Who is behind it

Kapral is the owner and principal designer. She earned her B.A. at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and worked as a city manager for a Fortune 500 company before window coverings became her career. She was already sewing drapery and valances for friends and family when, in 2006, she bought a window covering franchise in Richmond, Virginia. Her family moved to Las Vegas in 2008, she stayed in the trade without a franchise, and the business has run under the same ownership and management since 2010. Those franchise years taught her which manufacturers hold up on product, performance and support. Her soft treatments have been featured in a national trade publication and in a design style book, and Roomers is a women-owned small business.
