A dog does not have to hold a perfect stay for Nicole Hrustyk’s camera. Her Las Vegas business, Pawtraits by Nicole, plans pet portrait sessions around the animal’s temperament, age and needs. Leashes can remain in use for safety and be removed from the finished image during editing.

## From the first conversation to the wall

The process starts with a phone consultation about the dog and the photographs the owner wants. Sessions take place at an agreed location, usually later in the afternoon, when Hrustyk can work with lower sunlight. Rather than keeping the dog in one fixed pose, she walks between spots and allows time for movement, treats and toys.

Her published session plan allows about ninety to one hundred twenty minutes for photography. An ordering appointment follows over Zoom, giving the owner time to review the images and choose the pieces to be made. Finished orders are delivered to the customer’s home.

### Photographs made into objects

The product range includes albums and wall art, with options such as framed prints, acrylic pieces and reclaimed-wood presentations. Installation is included for the framed products specified in her product information. The business is organized around producing artwork from the session, rather than ending the experience when the camera is put away.

Hrustyk also offers One Last Pawtrait sessions for dogs approaching the end of life. She asks owners to contact her about urgent timing so she can adapt the visit to the animal’s needs.

Community work is another visible part of the business. Pawtraits by Nicole participates in pet calendar fundraisers, including the Paw Partners Unleashed 2026 contest. Those projects combine portraits with fundraising for local animal organizations. Her own background in dog training informs the session planning and the practical advice she gives owners before photo day.
