French bread and Vietnamese dishes now share the menu at O Happy Bread. John Nguyen took over the Pahrump bakery in April 2026, keeping its established French offerings while adding food from his own restaurant background.

Nguyen and his wife, Helen Ta, were already local business owners through Happy Nails, which they purchased in 2019. He had previously operated a Vietnamese restaurant in Washington state. The bakery gave him a way to return to restaurant work in Pahrump.

## Two menus meeting at the baguette

The additions reported at the May 2026 reopening included banh mi, spring rolls, curry soups and Vietnamese iced coffee. Banh mi makes the connection especially clear: a Vietnamese sandwich served in a French baguette.

The change did not remove the breads, croissants, European sandwiches and breakfast dishes that existing customers knew. O Happy Bread's own website continues to describe French breads and pastries alongside sandwiches, salads and soups. Its location remains 1231 East Basin Avenue, Suite 7.

## Beyond a café visit

The bakery also offers catering for meetings, parties, tour groups and other gatherings. Published options include boxed lunches with a sandwich, cookie and fruit, as well as sandwich trays. Ham and Swiss, turkey and provolone, roast beef and Swiss, and tomato and mozzarella appear among the sandwich choices.

Pastry orders can include croissants, almond croissants, chocolatines, cheese Danishes, cinnamon rolls, beignets and macarons. A charcuterie box brings together meats, cheeses, bread and accompaniments.

The catering page asks customers to arrange orders at least a week ahead, with a phone call for shorter-notice requests. That makes the published phone and email useful for discussing a specific group order as well as asking about the bakery's current café menu.
