Mojave Bloom Nursery starts with that setting, stocking regionally native and desert-adapted plants at its Searles Avenue location. Horticulturist Norm Schilling founded the nursery in 2024. Schilling also runs Schilling Horticulture and contributes to KNPR’s Desert Bloom. His work connects landscape practice with public education about gardening in Southern Nevada. In 2025 Nevada legislative testimony, he identified himself as the owner of both the horticulture business and Mojave Bloom. ## Beyond the outdoor plant rows The nursery’s selection includes houseplants, pots, gardening supplies and nature-themed gifts as well as plants for outdoor landscapes. Its online shop separates plants, containers and decor, allowing customers to look through different parts of the inventory before visiting. Educational material addresses specific growing questions. One nursery article explores figs as a crop for desert gardens, explaining the plant’s history and the importance of varieties suited to local conditions. That level of detail reflects an operation concerned with what happens after a plant leaves the nursery. ### Learning in the garden Classes and gatherings are part of Mojave Bloom’s published program. The fall 2026 calendar includes irrigation strategies and a session on what makes a plant native, both with Gail Brandys and Dr. Robert Brandys. The subjects connect everyday decisions about watering and plant selection to a broader understanding of the desert landscape. The nursery also offers its space for gatherings. Its description of the property emphasizes a place where people can browse, ask questions and meet other gardeners, with education and social events alongside retail sales. Visitors will find the nursery at 1401 Searles Avenue. Class registration, current inventory and seasonal hours are published online; the team’s phone and email are available for questions about a planned visit or a particular plant. ## Contact Mojave Bloom Nursery 1401 Searles Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89101 702-279-2789 [Business website](https://www.mojavebloomnv.com/) Researched September 28, 2026.
