## Poker bracelets and a Key to the City

Some pieces from Michael E. Minden Diamond Jewelers end up in very public hands. The store lists World Series of Poker bracelets, work on national football and baseball awards, custom jewelry for celebrities, musicians and athletes, and a repair of the Miss USA crown among its jobs, and it recently redesigned the Key to the City of Las Vegas. Most days, though, the work is engagement rings and wedding bands for local couples. Custom designs are made with an on-site factory and staff jewelers at the store in Fashion Show mall.

## Three generations in the trade

Michael E. Minden is a third-generation jeweler. Born in Las Vegas, he grew up working beside his father in the family's store, Bernard Minden and Co. Jewelers. After Bishop Gorman High School he earned an associate degree at Arizona State University, planning on law, but took a full-time job with a chain jeweler while in college. He came home to help his father retire the family business, then opened his own store in 1988. Michelle Graham is the general manager.

## Away from the showroom

Minden has served on nonprofit and advisory boards including the Public Education Foundation, the Vegas Golden Knights Foundation, Sunrise Children's Foundation, the UNLV Foundation and Hope for Prisoners, and he has been an honorary commander at Nellis Air Force Base. His wife, Theresa, has sat on the board of the Junior League of Las Vegas. The Better Business Bureau lists the store as accredited since 2013, with Minden as president.
