The owner of Legacy Dance holds a dance degree from the University of Akron, previously ran a studio in Ohio, and performed in Las Vegas productions including Jubilee, Folies Bergere and Show in the Sky. At Legacy, that experience supports a program for young dancers progressing from their first class toward performance. The studio separates recreational classes from its competition team, allowing families to choose the level of commitment that fits their dancer. ## Technique in several forms The class offerings cover ballet and pointe, jazz, tap, contemporary and lyrical dance, hip-hop, and acro and tumble. Each discipline has its own emphasis: ballet develops classical foundations, tap concentrates on rhythm, and contemporary work gives students room for expressive movement and storytelling. Legacy describes age-appropriate teaching, music and choreography as part of its approach. Its program emphasizes musicality and artistry alongside physical skills, with teamwork and confidence included among the lessons students practice in the studio. ## People and pathways Schumacher’s wider experience includes choreography, competition judging and dance-team coaching.
