City scenes, flowers, figures and music all appear in Joseph Watson's art. The Las Vegas artist sells original works and prints through Joseph Watson Art, with a portfolio that also reaches into public art, commissions and children's books.

## Everyday scenes, transformed

Watson grew up in Gardena, California, and graduated from Art Center College of Design in 1998. His biography describes a career that has included video-game concepts, toy design at Mattel and book illustration, alongside his own painting practice.

Series such as Urban Flora and Musical Vehicles show the breadth of that personal work. The online gallery organizes pieces into people and figures, music-inspired works, scenic subjects and floral imagery. Las Vegas appears directly in titles including Arts District and Downtown Las Vegas Scene.

## Artwork to collect and books to read

The shop separates original art, prints and framed prints, with additional selections of smaller purchases and gallery clothing. That structure gives buyers several ways to approach the same artist's work without treating every piece as an original painting.

Watson is also the illustrator of the *Go, Go, Greta* children's books. Local KTNV coverage documented his participation in a children's-book event at AREA15, while Las Vegas Black Image has reported on his local career and commissioned work.

His website includes public-art and commissioned-work portfolios for people interested in those sides of the practice. It also provides a direct email and phone number rather than requiring an inquiry through a third-party gallery.

The common thread is Watson's authorship across different kinds of image-making: paintings for a wall, illustrations for a book and work designed for a shared public setting.
