Its own history says it opened under the Get Booked name on May 15, 1993, and calls it the longest-lived LGBT retailer in Nevada. Today it sells clothing and gifts more than books. ## How it began The shop grew out of Bright Pink Literature, which Rob Schlegel, publisher of the Bohemian Bugle, opened on December 11, 1987 as the city’s first commercial LGBT bookstore. OutHistory.org, an online LGBTQ history project, confirms that Schlegel sold the store in 1993 to Marlon Tinana and Wes Miller, who had moved to Las Vegas from Ohio in 1990, and that the two renamed it Get Booked. By 1995, according to both OutHistory and the shop, Miller was the sole owner. The shop’s history says Raul Mangubat came from New York in November 1994 to run the store and later helped lead it with Miller. OutHistory also notes that Mangubat moved to Las Vegas to run the shop. ## What it sells In the 1990s and 2000s the stock included more than 5,000 book titles by 1990, magazines, videos, cards, stationery, buttons, T-shirts and jewelry, and the store hosted author signings and other events. The shop’s own account says books, DVDs and magazines have largely moved online, and it now describes itself as a clothing boutique with swimwear, underwear, harnesses and other fashion brands. Its online store also lists shirts, shorts, accessories, jewelry, pins, keychains, lanyards, Pride merchandise and novelty gifts. ## Ordering and visiting The website sells online, links to a shipping and returns page, and has a contact form. It did not list store hours when checked, so call before a visit. ## Contact Get Booked 4640 Paradise Road, Suite 15, Las Vegas 702-737-7780 [Business website](https://www.getbooked.com/) Researched October 20, 2026 from the business’s own website and independent evidence.
